Casa Loma
Formerly The Inn at Laguna Beach
For my latest trip to Laguna Beach, I was determined to find that goldilocks spot: The right view for the right price. After much deliberation, and a fully-fledged spreadsheet dedicated to my search, I finally settled on Casa Loma.
This place has it all, and at a reasonable price! (Well, everything except an on-site restaurant, that is.) It’s a true oceanfront boutique hotel in Laguna Beach with chic design, a nice pool, rooftop bar, and great amenities like a daily wine happy hour and fresh baked cookies each evening. I mean, okayyyy. Plus, the hotel is located within close proximity of both Heisler Park and Main Beach where you’ll find a sand volleyball court and basketball court.
While there are separate daily resort, parking, and optional breakfast fees, the array of room choices may afford some flexibility with price. You can choose from interior rooms, a partial ocean view and oceanfront rooms, many with balconies. As far as beachfront hotels in Laguna go, this is definitely my top choice.

Laguna Beach House
Laguna Beach House is a charming boutique hotel located just steps away from the beach in the heart of Laguna. This cozy hotel features 36 rooms decorated in a coastal chic style with a great outdoor space featuring alluring firepits, string lights and a pool/spa.
I’ve stayed at this location before and really enjoyed it! Booking again would have been an easy choice, but I was dead set on falling asleep to the sound of the ocean waves, and Laguna Beach House is just a little bit too far back to do that. Plus, there’s no direct beach access from the hotel. It just wasn’t the experience I was looking for this time.
However, I still highly recommend Laguna Beach House due to its affordability, its super cute design, and perks like free parking. And even though there’s no direct beach access, you can still get there by walking down a public staircase, just a short walk from the hotel.
